Gnanamani College of Technology
Product development in our college integrates academic knowledge with practical, hands-on experience to address real-world problems. It follows an iterative process—ideation, prototyping, testing, and commercialization—enabling students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry-ready innovation.
This stage involves identifying a specific problem or market need. Ideas often emerge from observing local issues, campus challenges, or everyday inconveniences.
In this phase, students define the target users (user persona), outline key features, and assess the technical feasibility of the idea.
Students develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) using available resources such as college laboratories, software tools, or technologies like 3D printing.
The prototype is tested with real users to gather feedback. This helps in refining the product’s functionality, usability, and performance.
The final stage involves presenting the product through hackathons, applying for patents, or seeking funding to convert the idea into a startup or market-ready solution.
Platforms like the Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute (EDII), Tamil Nadu and the AICTE Smart India Hackathon offer opportunities to showcase projects, gain recognition, and secure funding.
Our college students are involved in product development activities that enhance innovation and technical skills.
