Office of the Controller of Examinations
Established in October 2023 following the institution’s conferment of autonomous status, the Office of the Controller of Examinations oversees the continuous learning assessment of students. It upholds the highest quality, standards, and confidentiality in all examination processes. The office manages the preparation, scheduling, conduct, publication, and record-keeping for Continuous Assessment Test (CAT) and Semester End Examinations across all UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect student biodata and map electives for the current semester.
- Conduct CAT tests for UG and PG programs.
- Prepare exam schedules, hall allocations, and seating arrangements for CAT tests.
- Collect question papers from departments, print, and distribute them for CAT tests.
- Gather practical examination schedules from departments and appoint external examiners.
- Monitor student attendance percentages throughout the semester.
- Prepare panels for debarred students, withdrawals, and lack of attendance, drawing from various institutions/universities.
- Develop exam schedules for Semester End Examinations, including hall invigilators, hall charts, seating arrangements, squads, and chief superintendents.
- Appoint evaluators, chief examiners, and chairmen for valuation.
- Publish results.
- Convene malpractice committee meetings if required.
- Process revaluation requests, issue photocopies, publish revaluation results, and handle reviews.
- Conduct special supplementary examinations.
- Print Statements of Grades and Consolidated Statements of Grades.
- Issue duplicate grade sheets/certificates, transcripts, CGPA-to-percentage conversions, Medium of Instruction certificates, and WES requests.
- Organize graduation day and issue degree certificates.
- Assist with student background verifications.

Controller of Examinations - Exam Schedule
- The Office of the Controller of Examinations assesses students' continuous learning by upholding the highest quality, standards, and confidentiality in all examination processes. It manages the preparation, scheduling, conduct, publication, and record-keeping for Continuous Assessment Test (Cat) and End Semester Examinations (ESE) across all UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs.
- ESE exams are typically held between November and January for odd semesters and between April and June for even semesters.
- Student assessments are based on absolute marks. For reporting purposes, letter grades—each assigned specific grade points—are awarded based on the total marks (out of 100) earned in each course.

Rules of the Examination Examination Examination

A candidate is permitted to use geometric tools, non-programmable calculators, and approved tables and data books only during the theory and the practical examinations. No other material/electronic gadget, the mobile phone should be brought inside the examination hall.

A candidate should neither possess/refer any forbidden material in any form nor should seek/obtain assistance in any form from any person/source during the examinations. He/she should not assist other candidates in any form during the examinations.

The candidate should not reveal his/her identity in any form in the answer scripts. The candidate should not indulge in canvassing either directly or indirectly to award more than deserving marks in the examinations.

The candidate should maintain discipline and decorum during the examinations.

The candidate should be inside the allotted examination hall at least 10 minutes before the commencement of the examination.

The candidate is expected to be present in the Examination hall as per the seating arrangement chart.

Candidate indulging in any kind of malpractice will be dealt with as per the Norms enforce from time to time.

Once mobile phone (or) any electronic gadget confiscated on the ground of suspected malpractice, it will not be returned on any account.

Violation of the above rules in any form during the examinations will attract punishment ranging from levying fine to permanently debarring the candidate from continuing his/her studies as given below:

| 8 | The candidate facilitating the other candidate(s) to copy from his/her answer script. | Invalidating the examination of the particular course written by the candidate. |
| 9 | The candidate possessing any incriminating material(s) (whether used or not). For example: Written or printed materials, bits of papers containing written information, writings on the scale, calculator, handkerchief, dress, part of the body, Hall Ticket, and on a mobile phone, etc. Hiding the evidence like throwing out the bits of the papers and any other material(s) (or) destroying the evidence by swallowing the bits of papers. | Invalidating the examinations of the course concerned and all the theory and the practical courses of the current semester registered by the candidate. Further, the candidate is not considered for revaluation of answer scripts of the arrears-courses. If the candidate has registered for arrear-courses only, invalidating the examinations of all the arrears-courses registered by the candidate. |

Invalidating the examinations of all the theory and practical courses of the current semester and all the
arrears-courses registered by the candidate;
Additional punishment: 1. If the candidate has not completed the program, he/she is debarred from continuing his/her studies for one year i.e., for two subsequent semesters. However, the student is permitted to appear for the examination in all the arrears-courses up to the last semester during the debarred period. 2. If the candidate has completed the program, he/she is prevented from writing the examinations of the arrears-courses for two subsequent semesters. |
| 20 | Involved in any one or more of the malpractices of serial no.9 to 18 for the second or subsequent times. | |
| 21 | Cases of impersonation |
1. Handing over the impersonator to the police with a complaint to take appropriate action against the
person
involved in the impersonation by the Chief Superintendent. 2. If a student of this College is found to impersonate a “bonafide student”, the impersonating student is debarred from continuing his/her studies and writing the examinations permanently. He/she is not eligible for any further admission to any program of the College. 3. Debarring the “bonafide student” for whom the impersonation was done from continuing his/her studies and writing the studies and writing the examinations permanently. He/she is not eligible for any further admission to any program of the College. |
| 22 | Abetting of malpractice | Any instance of abetting such practices at any stage or of CONDONATION of the malpractice by any faculty member/non-teaching staff will result in severe action against the individual, including an action for blacklisting/ termination of services. Any other type of malpractices reported, the inquiry committee may recommend an appropriate punishment. |
